A baby girl who was born on an American Airlines flight when her mother went to work was properly named Sky.
Sky’s mother, Nereida Araujo, traveled with her husband and two children from Tampa to Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving when her waters broke and she went to work.
At the moment, she was pregnant for 38 weeks and was scheduled to have a layover of only 20 minutes in Charlotte, North Carolina. Regarding her coughing, a fellow passenger assisted Nereida, and the crew radioed to the medical staff ahead.
After landing at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, they helped deliver the healthy new baby girl on the plane minutes.
The mother and baby were then taken to the Charlotte hospital. The delighted parents have decided to name Lizyana Sky Taylor as the new arrival, and she will be known as Sky.
“I just want so much to thank them,” Nereida said to WSOC-TV. “Everyone was so amazing. They’re like my heroes. It’s been an experience I’ll always remember.”
