Medical chiefs added the symptoms of “sense of smell and loss of taste” to the Coronavirus Symptoms list.
According to the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, persistent cough, fever, pneumonia, loss of sense of smell, or taste will be considered as corona symptoms from today. In the case of these symptoms, the person concerned will be instructed to stay in isolation for seven days.
The medical officer said that those living with the family would be isolated for 14 days, while the test was likely to diagnose corona disease in 2% more people.
The government has been widely criticized for delaying the move, and it is feared that the delay could result in 70,000 patients not being diagnosed with corona disease.
Researchers initially identified some common symptoms of the coronavirus, including a dry cough, high fever, and difficulty breathing, but the US Centers for Disease Control added several new symptoms to its existing list of corona symptoms.
