According to news agency AFP, Donald Trump said that after the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, the Taliban will likely regain control of the Afghan government.

Speaking to reporters at the White House, he said in the context of Afghanistan, “Countries should take care of themselves, you can only hold a person’s hand”.

Will the Taliban come to power? In response to the question, the US president said, “It will not happen, but it will happen soon”.

“We cannot stay in Afghanistan for the next 20 years, we have already been protecting Afghanistan for the last 20 years but not the next 20 years,” he continued.

The US president said, “Finally, they have to protect themselves.”

Donald Trump said the Afghan government can protect itself from guerrillas after the withdrawal of US troops, it is not known.
